. Twitter 'vital' link to patients, say doctors in Japan. In the aftermath of the earthquake in Japan, Twitter is proving "an excellent system" for communicating with patients, say doctors. Although telephone networks were disrupted after the earthquake, internet access remained reliable.
. Expats and international travellers warned about measles. The Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization is urging international travellers and expats to get vaccinated against measles and rubella to reduce the risk of reintroducing these two diseases which have been eliminated from the Americas.
. Denmark takes on the European Union. Last week Denmark announced that it was resuming checks along its frontiers with Germany and Sweden - having suspended them in 2001 when it joined the Schengen agreement, which allows free movement throughout 22 of the EU's 27 member states, plus four others.
Also in the news a recent report shows the movement of workers from east to west Europe after the enlargements of the European Union in 2004 and 2007 were not as many had predicted, there had been fears voiced in countries like the UK and France that mass migration would have a major economic impact.
None of our advisors are paid commission so you can rest assured that the advice that you receive is what is best for you, not what is best for them! Best of all it doesn't cost you anything!

Saudi Arabia needs doctors and nurses.
The kingdom’s Ministry of Health is planning up to 100 new hospitals and up to 2,000 outpatient centres at a cost of around $18 billion as part of a five year development strategy to cope with an aging population.
It has been suggested that thousands of foreign doctors and nurses will be needed in Saudi Arabia over the next five to 10 years as the Middle East state struggle to fill positions with suitably qualified people, Expat medical staff are likely to provide the bulk of new recruits, required to work in existing facilities and those yet to be built.
According to Dierderik Zeven, senior director of Philips Healthcare, the state will need to recruit at least 7,000 doctors and nurses to meet the healthcare needs of its growing population.

Coffee has been linked to a reduced risk of dying from prostate cancer in a study of nearly 50,000 US men.
The study looked at about 48,000 men in the US who work as health professionals. Every four years between 1986 and 2006, they were asked to report their average daily intake of coffee.
Those who drank six or more cups a day were found to be 20% less likely to develop any form of the disease - which is the most common cancer in men.
