Dear April Medibroker Friend
Welcome to your June 2011 edition of the April Medibroker Newsletter where you will find the latest news, views and expatriate insurance providers features.
Expat News Round up:
. New York is intoducing an outdoor smoking ban - It is a city heralded for attracting incomers from around the world, but New York has just become less hospitable to one group. Under measures approved by local authorities, swathes of outdoor public places including beaches, municipal parks and even Times Square have become smoke-free. . Smelly chemicals confuse mosquitoes - Chemicals which interfere with a mosquito's ability to sniff out humans have been developed by US scientists, It is hoped they could be used to develop the next generation of mosquito traps and repellents. . What strength sun cream should be used? People should use stronger sun cream to guard against cancer, a medical journal has warned. Research has shown that SPF 15 is strong enough if it is applied thickly. The standard is set at 2 mg/cm², Yet many people apply much less, between 0.4 and 1.5 mg/cm².
Also in the news a recent study shows Expats looking at starting a new life will be well aware of the potential pitfalls of life in another country although unfortunately professional financial advice is very often a second thought with so much on their minds.
Most of the worldwide population are currently experiencing an increase in the cost of living. When you take into account the increase in the cost of living, relatively high inflation and relatively low savings rates this could, if left unattended, become something of a recipe for disaster.
When you are working or living abroad, or have plans of relocating into another country, it is very important that you ensure you and your family’s health and their wellness. None of our advisors are paid commission so you can rest assured that the advice that you receive is what is best for you, not what is best for them! Best of all it doesn't cost you anything!
Kind Regards,

Andrew Wilson, CEO April Medibroker
