Background

I completed my B.Com (Accountancy) degree in 1986 at the Rand Afrikaans University (now known as the University of Johannesburg). My studies were done on a part time basis which allowed me to complete my training contract with a firm of accountants at the same time.

After that my career path changed into commerce and I held the positions of Finance Manager and Management Accountant in various companies. My previous role was within the ABSA Group, which is now part of the Barclays Group.

I met my wife in class one evening and we married in 1998.  We lived in Johannesburg where we had a son and a daughter. Our family immigrated to the United Kingdom during March 2005 and settled in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I joined APRIL Medibroker in June 2005 shortly after our move to England.

Hobbies/Interests

My interests are reading, keeping fit and I play squash a few times a week. I am not a man that likes to sit still for too long and am always working on some creative project.

Our family unit is close and myself and my wife are fulltime supporters of our children's swimming careers
